The direct injection factory fuel system cannot safely support the amount of fuel needed for full E85 fuel, even with an HPFP upgrade, however, it can support a maximum blend of ethanol to E40. E40 is an ethanol mix of E85 with regular pump 91\/93 fuel (about 2\/5ths E85 and 3\/5ths 91\/93 with E10 premium gas). To run this fuel safely, it must be pre-mixed and verified before filling into an empty tank. You can read our blog article on how to safely blend ethanol\u00a0<a title=\"How To Safely Blend Ethanol\" href=\"https:\/\/www.performancebyie.com\/blog\/make-power-safely-ethanol-blends\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer\">HERE<\/a>.\u00a0<em>Available for all Dual Pulley and above tunes.<\/em><\/p>\n<p><strong>CATALYTIC CONVERTERS<\/strong><em><br \/>\n<\/em>IE&#8217;s pump fuel 95\/98 tunes are specially calibrated with safe air to fuel mixtures that inhibit &#8220;knocking&#8221;. These mixtures also provide cooler exhaust gas temperature and thus are safer for the 3.0T&#8217;s fragile catalytic converters than many competition tunes. Higher octanes are intended for higher power output and do not guarantee factory catalytic converter safety.<\/p>\n<h2>OPTIONAL TUNE FEATURES<\/h2>\n<p><strong>TRUE LAUNCH CONTROL<br \/>\n<\/strong>IE&#8217;s True Launch Control feature adds\u00a0the motorsport function of two-step launch control built into the ECU software.
